Whew, what a week. Spent an afternoon at LAX as the airport commission blessed the LAX deal. Sending to City Hall for final approval, but all looks good for Real Food Daily’s contract with HMS Host to open RFD in Terminal 4 at the end of the year. Wednesday night went to the opening of The Market at the still new Santa Monica Mall.Had a great bowl of pasta made especially for Husband and me by Valentino’s quick casual concept, Primi. Highlight of the evening was the Malibu Beachy Cream gluten free ice cream cookie sandwich. I went back the next day to have another one. My excuse was to take my daughter and her friend, but really it was to nurse my ever so small hangover. Yes, there is a dynamite wine store, Venokado hiding up there behind the Gourmandise School of Sweets and Savories.

I’m on my way to Austin this week to attend a conference for the International Association of Culinary Professionals. I’ll have more to say about this event later. I’m looking forward to seeing old friends in Austin as well. I consider myself part Texan. I learned to talk while living in Houston from ages 2 to 6. I’ve still got my Texan twang and proud of it!
