What’s Cooking w/ Ann
SWANK
It is time to take a moment to toot my own horn. Life is filled with blessings and opportunities. My cookbook, Vegan Family Meals will be published in 26 days! Yes, I’ve been counting, just like one would to their birthday. Only this is more fun, as I am not getting a year older. A labor of love both in the making and in the last two months working to bring attention to my book’s debut on June 14th.
CAMPAIGNING
I’m sure many of you have been following me on Facebook on Twitter and if you aren’t yet, click to do so!
On Tuesdays, I’ve posted a few how-to videos and launched a recipe contest on Wednesdays. I post a recipe from my new cookbook every Wednesday that people can print out. They have through the weekend to make the recipe, take a photo and post to my Facebook page. On Monday, the folks in my restaurants help me choose the photo that looks the most like the photograph from my book. Now, that I’ve explained how this works, go do it. I want to see more home cooks get involved! There are a few more weeks and each week’s winner is sent a reusable organic RFD tote bag stuffed with a dozen of my favorite products, both food and beauty and a copy of my new cookbook.
On Friday, great companies like Essential Living Foods, Tasty Brand and Lululemon to name the ones who have already participated have joined forces with me on Twitter. The winner is the one who tweets #veganfamilymealsfreebiefriday the most times on a Friday. They will be sent a gift bag full of the company who is sponsoring that particular Friday. I’ve heard from the lucky winners who are enjoying the great goodies sent to them by these gracious companies.
PLACES I’LL BE
My husband’s friend Mark Wexler has directed the documentary film, How To Live Forever. I’ll aspire to that! After the film’s showing this Sunday, 5/22 at the Laemmle Theatre in Santa Monica, I will sit on a panel discussing food and health with Pulitzer-Prize winning food critic Jonathan Gold from the LA Times. This should be fun!
YOU CAN TALK TO ME
Join me as I ‘take-over’ on Veria’s Facebook page for one hour this Tuesday. You’ll have the opportunity to ask me questions about healthy cooking by posting your question up on the Wall of the Veria Facebook Page @ www.facebook.com/veriawellness during the take-over hour. I’ll do my best to answer you personally in the comments section below your post. So, get your thinking caps on and drop by at 1pm PT on the 24th to have your question answered.
