30 Years of Organic History – this Saturday!
Jacobs farm is run by my brother- and sister-in-law, and they are two of the founders of organic farming in California. They also run a farming collective called del Cabo. I serve Jacobs Farm’s delicious herbs and tomatoes at RFD, so I thought you’d like to know a bit about how they got started. Quite a few decades of history have gone into those greens!
Jacobs Farm / del Cabo has a mission to practice farming in a way that it can be carried on for generations. The Jacobs Farm part of the organization started as a small family farm founded by my brother-in-law Larry and his wife Sandra. They’ve also created del Cabo, a cooperative dedicated to improving the lives of growers and their families by providing economic opportunities for them and offering a chemical-free work environment. Four hundred families in all are participating in del Cabo. You can read the success stories of the Espinozas and the Castro family right on the del Cabo site.

But why not hear the whole story in Larry and Sandra’s own words? Check out Green960.com online for the live show, and later on, the conversation will be available on www.anorganicconversation.com and as an iTunes podcast.
Have a great weekend!
